Just amazing, Peg! I don't think I've ever gotten the back apron that close to the heddles and been able to get a shed, much less weave! Way to go! --Jessica
I can get a shed alright, but it really rises up at the bottom so there is no way I could throw a shuttle. But the shed is nevertheless large enough so that I can pass a pirn through by hand.
Meg I cannot leave comments on your new embedded comments form. No letters show. Here is what I wanted to say regarding part 2 of does good weaving have to hurt. I found this a really interesting post. I think you should print this out and in a week or so study it. Study it to find what it is you like and then to go from there.
I have been weaving since 1999. I enjoy designing the things I weave and love to explore possibilities. When feasible I prefer dyeing my own yarns. I use primarily natural fibers, mostly fine silks, but am not averse to weaving with synthetics.

I got about that close on my last warp, but the shed was a bit smaller than the shuttle by the end! I guess the answer to that is a thinner shuttle ;)
