BLOG POST ORDERING

Posted by Peg in South Carolina

May I say how surprised I was when I opened my blog this morning to find that, despite my best attempts, the preceding two blog posts were still not in order the order I wanted them……………..  Guess I’ll just have to live with it.

The internet sometimes takes a turn of its own and we have to just slide along with it!

I've woven some blooming leaf and didn't care for the long floats in the pattern. What do you think?

You are right, Delighted Hands, sigh.....
bspinner, the length of the floats you can weave depends entirely on the epi. 3 weft floats on something sett at 9-10 epi would doubtless be too many. Something woven at 60 epi could easily have floats of 10-15 warp ends, unless the warp is way too slippery. Again, the use of the piece is important. A rugged jacket should never have long floats. A very dressy and seldom worn top or shawl can have more. Something hung, well, there is probably no limit. Lots to think about in determining float length!
