BLOG ANNIVERSARY!

Posted by Peg in South Carolina

Today begins my second year of blogging.  Well, actually, it was Saturday, but I don’t normally write blogs on Saturday. Anyone curious about my first blog post (besides me!) can go here to check it out.

Writing this blog has turned out to be playing a vital role in my development as a weaver. I am grateful to those of you who encouraged me to start a blog.

I am grateful to all of you who take the time to read it, whether or not you comment. I know that commenting takes up precious time, something few of us have enough of.

And I am grateful to all you weaving bloggers. The community you have created also plays an important role in my weaving. I only regret that, like you, have precious little time to comment.

Congratulations on your 2 year anniversary. I think I discovered you a year ago when I was beginning my loom research, and I've been reading ever since.

It's been a good two years Peg! Congratulations!

I hadn't thought about it, but as I started a month after you, so am coming up for the same landmark. It's all down to Leigh nudging us on to give it a go... well done Leigh ;) if you stop by, you really started something.

Thank you Susan B, Dave and Dorothy. And yes, Leigh was a nudger.....But in all fairness, I have nudged Leigh a bit as well.

Hi Peg,

I do enjoy your blog even though I don't weave, I do spin and do other fiber crafts like rug hooking. I do learn a lot about weaving and about colors from you and hope to learn to weave in the future. Congratulations on 2 years of your wonderful blog.

Thank you for reading and commenting Fanxstitch. Nice to know there is another South Carolinian around.

Fiber artists or crafters of any kind in SC are rare and endangered breeds. There's maybe 8 to 20 people that do rug hooking and almost none that do rug braiding or felting that I have been able to find. Spinners are very rare too, but there are some weavers around. It's hard getting anyone interested in any kind of traditional craft in SC.
